DocSoft e-3
The DocSoft e-3 is the powerful heart of the ship or power plant level which is capable to online capture all engine parameters from different systems and evaluates and analyses them at the same time to predict incipient failures. In this way, the DocSoft also acts as alarm monitoring system for the engine with the capability to communicate with the alarm system on the ship. Furthermore, the DocSoft sends all engine data to the EDCenter to warn the managers onshore by e-mail about abnormal conditions on the vessel. This important function ensures that immediate action can be taken on all levels to ensure energy efficiency and low maintenance costs.
Using the online capability of the DocSoft changes the workflow of analysing the monthly reports on the unit level. Instead of waiting for week or month on an external expertise the DocSoft gives the result on spot.
The activated analysis windows are either placed into a tab view structure or can be simultaneously visualized in a floating windows mode. Everything is customizable. Either keep it simply or make a more advanced engine analysis.
User-configurable interface settings are automatically stored and reloaded if the software gets re-started. There are three user levels for basic, standard and advanced software usage.
In crank angle domain, the x-axis represents crank shaft's position. A full range is from -180 to 180 degrees in two stroke engines and from -360° to 360° degrees in four stroke engines containing one full working cycle.
On the volume domain chart, which is also called pressure-volume (P-V) diagram, the x-axis represents piston's position from top (0%) to bottom (100%). If displaying the measured signals in a time domain plot, the x-axis is labeled with units of time.
In this way, you can see the continuous curves from multiple cycles in desired time span.
In the table window you can see desired engine parameters in a table format. The columns can be sorted, which makes a comparison of different measurements very easy.
Bar graph and trend charts make it easy to check the engine balance, overload or deviation in operating parameters. The analysis can be made by comparing the results to other measurements, meaning values and configured limit lines (optimal range).
Measurements made in long term clearly indicate the trends of the engine parameters, which will help to predict emerging failures.
This report is tailored to your engine and features depending on
what can be recorded. It can be collapsed and grouped
by components and units. The DocSoft e-3 software automatically puts desired data into the report if measurements from data acquisition systems are available.
With all areas that cannot be automatically filled out, the report works like a spreadsheet and shows mandatory fields. After input, reference values and ISO-correction are automatically calculated and updated. All data is stored in the DocSoft e-3 database. For example if exhaust gas temperature data needs to be integrated manually, the DocSoft e-3 software can show the manual data next to the correlation view simultaneously in a bar graph view.
After completing the recording report, you can directly switch to the
correlation resp. the engine validation view to see the graphic output
of the record.
All data is stored in the doctor database and can be used to automatically generate report templates of different engine brands like MAN and Wärtsilä. Also the customer specific report includes static content such as titles, descriptions, comments, a cover and a company logo.
The correlation view with the conventional load diagram is a unique tool, as it allows showing the results of different units and components online on the display (if the shaft power signal is also online integrated) including reference resp. ISO calculation.
The degree of deviation can automatically be analyzed by the optimal range around the reference data.
The reference curves for Aux. Blower operation (on / off) and Turbo-Cut, can be separated.
This allows a performance validation even at low loads.
All relevant curves can individually and flexibly be added to the correlation view. With the zoom you can easily navigate to see for example the difference of each cylinder or turbo charger.
· Cylinder pressures (pmax, pcomp)
· Indicated power
· Exhaust gas temperatures
· Scavenge air pressure receiver
· Fuel index
· Turbocharger speed
· Specific fuel oil consumption
Other parameters can individually be added. The engine condition summary is shown in traffic light style from the selected parameters including a descriptive failure lists.
There are different ways of comparing the results with other engines in the fleet.
